YouTube Vidcon 2025

In collaboration with Untitled Future, I was contracted as creative director and lead spatial designer for the YouTube Creator lounge at Vidcon 2025 located in the Anaheim convention center, CA. The goal of the creator lounge was to create a 2000’s inspired Arcade themed space where we sought to entertain, educate and inspire over 6000 emerging creators learning to use YouTube as a platform for monetization and personal brand building. By gamifying the experience and creating playable ‘arcade’ touchpoints throughout the space, we intended to create a playful and engaging atmosphere that would also that teach the attendees about features within the app and promote YouTube as a brand that truly nurtures and supports the creators on its platform.

By using various reflective materials, LED accents, lightboxes, dichroic films, pops of saturated colors, playful graphic vinyl applications, YouTube Insignia, Play button logos, and tasteful amounts of wood oak veneer slats - we were able to create a bespoke material story that felt freshly 2000’s but specific to an arcade space living in this larger branded world of YouTube.

There was no shortage of photo worthy moments, from the money grabbing machine that simulated a vertical live short, to a Wack-a-mole machine that educated about the generative AI inspiration tab feature, to the reflective disks, infinity mirror alcove that allowed creators to feel like a content creator hero, to the giant cotton candy “product bar”, that gave out tasty treats while also serving as a central node to learn more about the various products YouTube has.
